Carnitine is actively involved in metabolism, providing β-oxidation of fatty acids in mitochondria. Thanks to its pronounced antioxidant activity, it protects cellular organelles and DNA from hydroxyl and other radicals, and enhances cell proliferation.
The product is used primarily as a control for MS/MS.
In animal experiments, the neuroprotective function of carnitine has been proven, as well as the ability of carnitine to act as a neuromodulator, increasing the levels of dopamine, adrenaline and serotonin. Carnitine and its derivatives are determined in the study of aging processes, which carnitine prevents.
