DAPI 是一种蓝色荧光染料，可与 DNA 中富含腺嘌呤-胸腺嘧啶的区域强烈结合，用作染色体染色和细胞核复染。当与双链 DNA 结合时，DAPI 表现出约 20 倍的荧光增强，最大吸收波长为 358 nm，最大发射波长为 461 nm。
LumiMount DAPI 与显微镜应用中使用的大多数荧光标记兼容，并且可以减少成像过程中由于抗褪色剂含量而导致的荧光染料猝灭。液体封片剂的折射率为 1.38，但随着水在盖玻片边缘蒸发，折射率可增加至 1.46。
LumiMount DAPI 提供半永久性密封，可在 2°C 至 8°C 下长期保存。由于 LumiMount DAPI 是水溶性的，因此可以通过将载玻片浸入 PBS 溶液中直至盖玻片松动来去除盖玻片。为了更好地密封载玻片，建议用防水指甲油密封盖玻片的边缘。
