MemBlaze® 560 is an orange fluorogenic plasma membrane probe, a member of the MEMBRIGHT® [1] family, designed for high-contrast labeling of live and fixed cells. The dye is based on a lipophilic cyanine scaffold equipped with amphiphilic anchors that ensure rapid and selective insertion into lipid bilayers. In aqueous media, MemBlaze® 560 forms non-fluorescent aggregates; upon interaction with biological membranes, fluorescence is strongly activated, resulting in bright staining with exceptionally low background.
MemBlaze 560® provides uniform plasma membrane labeling without internalization under standard staining conditions. The probe is suitable for long-term imaging due to its high photostability and low cytotoxicity at working concentrations, and is useful for widefield, confocal, spinning disk, and super-resolution microscopy.
